When should my iPhone 5 arrive? - 2

I ordered it at 7:00 am est on the 14th over the phone and the guy assured me it would arive on the 21st but when i call the number that came with the email it says that my order is on back order

I ordered it last night too and I had the same question. I believe it should arrive Friday or Saturday.

A back order means they do not have the supplies available. Think about it… IPhone 5 is out and every one wants to update, so everyone's buying them. Well these phones do have to be built, put together, and programmed. People are buying faster than they can be built. That's why I'm waiting a couple of months, they are going to have errors, glitches and bugs that need to be worked out of iOS6 because it's a brand new operating system. Unlike iOS5, almost all the errors have been fixed, my phone runs perfect. Your wait can be anywhere from you getting it on the 21st, all the way until the 21st of next month. Today is the 15th. Apple is planning on actually releasing the phone on the 21st. It will be in stores the 21st. What you have done is PRE-ORDER. The 5 is still un-released. A million people ordered on the 13th when they announced it, and it has been a million orders every day since the 13th. Like I said, expect a good lengthy wait.
