When texting an out-of-state number, must you put a 1 before the area code?
I have an iPhone 5, I reside in Montana and I want to send a text to a non-iPhone user who has an Oregon pre-fix.
No. The country code number is only for international calling.

- Texting someone in another state? I have AT&T and an iPhone with unlimited texting. If I text a friend who's gone down south for vacation (but still in the US) will it charge me extra or pop up on my bill or anything or will it be like any other text and not show up on the bill?
