Where has my hard drive partition gone?
I have got a hard drive which I made a partition in it a long time ago. That partition has always been E drive and I have had that as a place to store important stuff that was not on the C:/ which has Windows on. I have gone to look on the drive and just seen that in the past few days some time it has totally disappeared and is no longer there so all my files on the ipad, iphone which have been on there can't be found (and the files don't appear on the D:/ which is the other bit of the partition). Can anyone let me know of something I could possible try to find th missing drive and missing files as it is like 80+GB of files!
Try run command E
Go to computer management / disk management and see if the drive is still there, if it is right click it and mark as active, i doubt it's gone any where might just be hidden, if you remember the folder use search to find it for the ipad and iphone files
Right click My Computer, click on Manage, go to disk management.
If it is just hidden, unhide it.
But if it isn't, I'm afraid you have lost all your data.
If it has just become unusable, format it.
If it has gone into unallocated memory, create the partition again.
If the unallocated memory is unusable (you're unable to create the new partition), it may be a problem with your hard disk. You may even need to format your whole system to get that memory back. Create a back up of all your important data in some external drive, then either format your system yourself or get it done. When the same happened with me, it was a problem with the hard disk, and the whole system had to be formatted.
Try some partition recovery software to get your files back. I tried partitionguru which can recover lost partition as well as files in partition. But if your disk is physically damaged, such as it gets many bad sectors, then no software can work
- What place can recover hard drive data from a dead iPhone 4? My phones battery circuitry short circuited from water damage. So my iPhone can't charge and is completely out of battery. Is there any place that can take out the hard drive and recover the data (music, contacts, pictures) and put it on my current phone?
- What is the difference in the hard drive and the memory of a computer? I'm planning on buying the new iMac as my first computer in a couple months. I've never understood how the two are different. Like on an iPhone it just has memory and no hard drive. Also as part of my initial question in your explanation, if I download adobe photoshop then does it go to the hard drive or the memory? What about my iTunes music downloads and pictures saved to the computer?
- Using my iPhone 5 as a USB stick/external hard drive? I need to move some stuff from my laptop (a Mac) onto my girlfriends laptop (a PC).Is there an app you can download or some technique?
- Portable hard drive with audio out? I'm looking for something that will help me sound check my studio mixes in the car. I want to plug an mp3 player or hard drive into my computer, bounce a logic or protools mix straight out onto the hard drive, then take it in my car and plug it into my 1/8" input on my radio in my car. I can do it with an ipod or iphone but i have to put the file into itunes and sync every time, which takes time, and I don't want to clutter up my phone/ipod with junk rough cuts of songs.
