It really depends on what you want to do with it. If you are wanting something super simple, then go with the iphone. If you want something you can customize and have more options, android is the way to go. The andriod mark passed the apple market years ago. More free apps with android. Insurance on the iphone will be more expensive. The phone itself will probably be more expensive and 99% of the people I know with iphones have broke them. I strongly dislike iphones for several reasons.
Both have their pros and cons and that's what you need to decide for itself. I prefer the galaxies because of the open framework and availability of the apps that enable me to do my job faster and quicker
