Both iPhones were released the same day. There are misconceptions that the iPhone 5s is newer because it has the Touch ID but that is true. The 5c is cheaper and doesn't have the Touch ID because it was a budget iPhone released by apple for the people who would like a cheaper or different option. Some people choose it over the 5s because of the various color options.
The 5c had an earlier release date in North America.

They both came out on the same day, the 5c was made to be a little bit more affordable and also replaced the 5; which was later discontinued. The 5s came with the finger print scanner and other newer features!

One is being sent tomorrow… The other monday… The gold one was delayed n they had to send it back and then re ship it cuz they were out of stock.
