Why can't I change the YouTube screen orientation on iPhone?

I recently switched from android to iPhone and with my old phone I could easily switch from portrait to landscape on my phone, even when browsing videos. But on my new iPhone I can't seem to do that and I can only go landscape when I make my videos full screen. This gets annoying when browsing because I have to keep turning my phone to browse. (Yes, I have unlocked the orientation lock) please help!

You can't. Apple determines everything for you and you must accept what they have determined.

Google hasn't added this for the iOS version of the YouTube app

The YouTube app on iOS only allows portrait browsing.

That is NOT the Apple way. Complain to Tim Cook.

  • My iphone isn't changing orientation? It was working earlier today but it isn't working anymore. The portrait orientation is unlocked so it shouldn't be doing this. Any suggestions to fix this. I do not want to reset my phone.
  • My iPhone 5s won't rotate, it has ios 8.01, and the portrait orientation is not turned on? I want to play a racing game and I need to be able to tilt the phone in order to steer the car, but that won't work either. Like i said i checked the button that locks the landscape mode, but it is not turned on. I have reset the phone numerous times and it still is not working, any help would be appreciated
  • Mobile web site development - images and device orientation? I have developed a mobile site with a 320px wide image on the page. When viewed on the iPhone in portrait orientation, all is. But when you view in landscape mode, it obviously doesn't fit the page. How to fix so that the image will fit all devices, regardless of orientation?
  • Looking for a photo frame that displays iPhone photos in their original orientation? I have a problem with my digital photo frame. (The company is pandigital) I just downloaded photos from my iPhone to the frame, and they re being displayed incorrectly. Photos that were taken as portrait appear as landscape. (I have to tilt my head sideways to look at the picture) Does anyone know of a solution to this problem, or of a digital photo frame that will display pictures in the orientation they were taken (even if that means black bars)
