Why can't I connect to the Internet? - 1

I switched to Cable Internet.
They refused to run a line to my computer but used their own Laptop to set it up
Then they took my iphone and gave me wireless on it.

Two weeks later ATT is cancelled. Now all I have is cable Internet, but when I moved
the PC closer to cable modem, PC detects nothing and it is set up correctly.
What changes do I make in settings, etc to fix this?

Did you try pluging a Ethernet cable to modem

if you plug in go to. Browser and in address field out in

192.168.1.1 or if that font work try 192.168.254.254

if you get user and password window try admin and admin in both… Or admin. In user and password in password.

that's default… If its not… There's usually a pin hole on back or bottom to hold pin in for afew seconds until lights blink… That resets it… But you may need to get into modem interface to put email and password…

but most cable modems should just connect automatically

This may sound silly to others reading this… But you said in your question "I moved the pc closer to the cable modem" I'm assuming your talking about a "tower" style PC and not a laptop. If this is correct the answer is simple… You need to patch an "Ethernet" cable (looks similar to a phone jack) from one of the ports on the modem( 1-4) to the back of your tower… Just look for the same plugin on the back of your tower… There's only one
