Why can't I save pictures from hotmail?

I feel stupid for even asking this, but i can't figure it out. It seems every time Microsoft updates something, they make it worse, it's hard to believe they can make such a simple task so difficult. Anyway, in my camera roll on my iphone i selected a picture to export via email so i could have it on my computer. I got the email on my computer in my hotmail inbox, but there seems to be no option to save the picture. I tried right clicking and selecting copy, but when I paste i get a message that says "the clipboard doesn't contain an image". I also tried right-clicking and selecting save image as, but when i do that it saves it as an.aspx file! What is going on here?

But isn't there a choice to save the image as a jpg file? I think you click the down arrow to the right of the file name and you make your choice then click save. I'm just guessing here, but I have an idea you can do this.
