Why can't I text with my iPhone?

It's used. I got it in February. It's an iPhone 4. I have a minute card and got that set up. I can call and receive texts/calls, but I can't text. Please tell me how I can fix this! Thank!

If you are getting them but can't send them, then that's a carrier issue and not the phone's. Are you getting iMessages? Or regular Messages? IMessages are blue not green. Try to reply to a green one and then a blue one. If the blue works, it's what I thought. Contact the carrier. But try to double check settings first. Best luck.

  • Why could i have gotten a text message with no text box? Yesterday morning, I looked at my smart phone ( android) and I got a text from someone. I clicked on the contact's text and there was no message, no blank bubble, nothing. It just looked like one of us was getting ready to start a conversation but no message was sent. (Extra info: I may be wrong but I think this certain contact has an iphone.) What could cause this? I don't want to ask the person because it would be extremely awkward.
