Why can't my iPhone 5 be recognized on my PC?

My PC is Windows XP. It used to be able to recognize my iPhone 5 but it suddenly doesn't now. Now I can't connect to my iTunes because it couldn't be connected to my PC in the first place. I was thinking the USB cable was the problem but I was still able to charge it in my PC. It just won't recognize it so I can't connect to my iTunes. I've tried plugging it to other USB ports and PCs but the same thing happens. I'm so frustrated 'cause I can't put songs and ringtones on my iPhone now.

Did you get a new USB cable recently? I've had this happen to me before. My cable stopped working, so I had to get a new one. When I tried to plug it into my laptop, it would charge but it would not connect to iTunes. I want to Best Buy where I bought the cable and asked them what the problem was. They told me that the cable was not compatible with iTunes or something like that.

If not, I'm out of ideas.

  • Tmobile sim card can't be recognized in iPhone? I jailbroke and unlocked my iPhone 3GS locked to AT&T, but I'm wanting it to work with tmobile. I put the sim card in but it doesn't get service still. The sim card has a data plan and everything. The sim card is at least 6 years old. Do I need a new one? Or how do I make the tmobile sim care work? I used redsn0w to jailbreak it.
  • Problems with iPhone not being recognized on iTunes? My iTunes stopped recognizing both my iPod touch and my iPhone, and I have done everything that I have seen online to do (uninstall and reinstall iTunes, uninstall and reinstall device drivers, change usb ports, change iPod cables, etc.) and my iTunes STILL won't recognize my iPhone. Any suggestions?
  • My Wi-Fi is recognized by my iphone 4, and loads but won't connect. How can i fix this? I have an iphone 4, and before my home Wi-Fi would connect instantly, but now when i go to my settings, the Wi-Fi keeps loading and loading, but the check won't appear. The Wi-Fi sign turns blue, but no check! It works on my PC, and my siblings andriods, but not my phone. I've tried everything, reseting the network, turning my phone off. Nothing seems to work. I'm using my 3G now.
  • My SIM can't be recognized on iPhone3GS When I updated my jailbroken iphone 3GS, It can't recognize my SIM card any more and won't activate I tried jailbreaking it again but it did not work. Any solutions? Btw, i live in the philippines. I think our SIM system is different from other countries
