Why can't i download from cydia?
I just jailbroke my iphone 5 on on 6.1 with the evasion release, but i can't download anything i try to. I get red god errors. Is there anything i can do to change that? Not even the most simplest of downloads like ifile or winter board.
You jailbroke it wrong or your sources are broken. Just delete them and add them again from the home page. Just restore it and jailbreak it. I can't tell anything else to do unless you are more specific.
You and me both along with thousands of others are experiencing the same issue… Don't worry the evasi0n jailbreak installed correctly… Its simply the cydia servers were hit hard when the release happened! Eeeeevvverybody was waiting and watching the countdown including me lol! To make a long story short… The servers are overloaded! We just have to wait it out! I'm sure this will go down as the biggest jailbreak releases of all time!
Cydia is currently taking a lot of traffic, so no one can access it because of the boom in the amount of people trying to use it after jailbreaking. You can however be notified when Cydia is back up using this website.

- WHy won't cydia let me download anything? When i try to download Winterboard or Color Keyboard, it just says NetDB: Open codename nor servename provided, or not known. I'm using the new evasi0n jasilbreak and i have a Iphone 5, 6.1
- Why won't Cydia download/install anything on my iPhone? I just jailbroke my iPhone 4 w/iOS 6.1 today. But when I went to install the winterboard or any other program it won't work. Messages like "Internal Server Error", or "Timed Out" or "Source Error" comes up in red letters. I've tried on 3G and my Wi-Fi connection and it still won't install anything. Any thoughts people? Are the boys at Cydia or the other sources still working on iOS 6.1 stuff?
- What will happen to apps installed via cydia if I will delete cydia? I jailbroken the iphone for the purpose of installing an app which is not available in appstore. Now I do not need cydia anymore, I can delete it by deleting its packages. But what will happen to the app that is installed using cydia if I will remove cydia?
- Jailbreak redsn0w can't let me download in Cydia? I installed Cydia using redsnow and when I was done, there's a cydia app in the menu. So I tapped it and pressed featured which is because I wanna download themes. So I tried to click one but it says "Can't find package" and it says I should download more sources. How do I download these sources? Or at least how do I get around to this obstacle? I had an iphone 3gs with ios 6.1.3 before jailbreaking if that's anywhere useful.
