Why did my iPhone 5 suddenly gain more storage?
I plugged my iPhone 5 into my computer to view it on iTunes and I noted that I had under 500 MB of space left. I had already known this, but I noticed that more than 8 GB of space was being taken up by the category of "Other".
However, after updating my phone to iOS 8.1 (I has iOS 8 before) & updating to the latest version of iTunes, I noticed that I had over 6 GB of space left on my phone now… The space taken up by "Other" had decreased to under 3 GB.
I went from under 500 MB to over 6 GB of space on my phone just by updating my software… Why did this happen?
No, it wasn't just a glitch producing wrong numbers - I had checked my phone various times before the update & it was definitely under 500 MB. I have checked my phone various times after the updates & it's still over 6 GB.
Can someone explain to me why this happened?
That has happened to me lots of times, but I never gained THAT much. I'm going to be honest, that is a lot. But do not worried. As long as you weren't charged anything, then you are fine!

- Why does my iPhone suddenly have no storage? A couple of weeks ago I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.In order to make the update, I had to delete about half of my apps in order to have enough storage. Now, my phone is refusing to backup to my iCloud automatically, once again claiming that there's not enough storage, which it has always done without a problem. - Why did the sound suddenly stop working on my iPhone? About a week ago while I was playing music on my phone, the sound just suddenly stopped working. I get no sound when I receive calls, play games, get notifications, etc. When I plug the headphones in, I get sound from them. It's almost as if they are stuck in headphone mode. I haven't gotten my phone wet or dropped it, nothing has been done to damage it. Yet it is without sound. Any ideas on what happen or what I can do to fix it? iPhone 3GS
- Why did the quality of pictures on my iPhone 5 suddenly get really bad? I have had this iPhone 5 since September and it works fine but like an hour ago the quality on pictures has gotten horrible. Worse than a flip phone. The pictures I take are fine but it's pictures on Instagram or the internet that look horrible. I tried to turn the phone on and off but it didn't work.
