Same reason all new versions come out, usually newer hardware, battery, technology, etc.
Because the first three were so popular that someone came uo with the genius idea to make a fourth on and continue making money. Believe it or not they made one after the iPhone 4 and some people are also speculating that they might be making even another one. Crazy I know.

- WHY DID APPLE MAKE THE IPHONE OF GLASS? My 2 year old was messing with my phone today and accidentally dropped it 2 feet off of the ground, cracked. I can't believe this! I've only had it for almost a week! (5 days) It's the back that's cracked, not the front. The case and screen protector that i ordered just came in almost an hour after he dropped it. I guess thats just my luck:/ is there anyway I can get it fixed?
