Why do American women use the word creepy so much?

According to them, everything is creepy. If you don't talk constantly about nothing, you're creepy. If you're sitting by yourself, you're creepy. Waiting for the bus by yourself, you're creepy. If you don't have an iPhone, you're creepy. Don't have a Facebook account? VERY creepy. If you're ugly, then god help you because you wouldn't even be able to go to college without getting strange, suspicious looks left and right. Why is everything creepy to them? Do they genuinely find these insignificant things creepy or are they just trying to make themselves seem important?

I'm American and I rarely use that word. But I know what type of girls you are talking about, an not every American girl is in that classification. You must go to college where there are many superficial people, otherwise you would not be having this problem.

Normally bc most ppl who think everything's like that just thing that anything different from what they feel is normal is wrong or well "creepy" just because ther not use to it don't know how to handle it or whatever

Clearly your generalizing American women by some American woman you know who used the word "creepy" a lot. You shouldn't generalize people off of the few you know because they're usually wrong. Which is why we have so many messed up stereotypes of peoples culture, heritage, and whatever else.

"Creepy" is just Newspeak for unattractive.

They want to let you know you're repulsive.

Well in the examples you give there it just sounds like a way of alienating people they don't like - or who don't conform. Maybe to make themselves feel better about themselves - or maybe they just like being nasty to people.

In our culture "creepy" has been reduced to a weapon to fend off unwanted attention from anyone. I guess the idea that someone you don't even find attractive wants to possibly hook up with you and have secks with you disgusts people. I mean it's expected, it's only natural.

I've used it myself on an older woman who I didn't like and after politely getting the hint when she started attacking me and my girlfriend's relationship… I called her a creep and told her to get lost, please. I just wanted her to disappear and I knew the term "creepy" would hit her where it hurts and she'll go away. She didn't.instead became my enemy.lol

Usually they use the word to describe guys who are not good looking.

Some use it in a wrong way but there are too many creeps out there
