Why do people buy an iPhone?
Specifically, if we take the example of iPhone 5, following is what goes for and against it:
For:
1. Good design
2. Large App ecosystem
3. Polished, clean UI of IOS
4. Ease of use
5.very light weight
Against:
1. Tightly coupled with iTunes
2. No USB mass storage
3.poor quality of materials (scratches, paint coming off, etc.whole bunch of complaints)
4. Does not gain signal when moving from low coverage to high coverage area (iOS bug)
5.can't transfer files, photos via bluetooth
6.exorbitantly priced
7.sub-par camera (purple haze, lens flare complaints from users)
8. Maps software is way behind Google maps
9. No compliance with standards - Lightning cables are expensive and not freely available at a local shop in case one cable malfunctions or breaks.
10. Too little too late - there are more advanced features in Samsung Galaxy S3 which was released about 5 months earlier than iPhone5 and still the iPhone5 costs more and does not match up with the features offered by SGS3.
YET, people buy an iPhone 5 after paying a hefty premium. It just defies any sense and logic.
IPhone is just apps… Bottom line
The look of it
Apple reputation. Its an iphone
1. Tightly coupled with iTunes
iTunes has always been discriminated as being a bad media manager, when in fact it works flawlessly if you're smart enough to understand how it works.
2. No USB mass storage
Wrong. You are actually able to read and write files when plugging them in.
3.poor quality of materials (scratches, paint coming off, etc.whole bunch of complaints)
Let's see. I have friends whose "dumbphones", androids, and blackberries (including my old one) encounter the same issue. This isn't an argument, you just want to make your list go up to ten.
4. Does not gain signal when moving from low coverage to high coverage area (iOS bug)
If you mean not immediately, then yes, you're right, I guess. But this isn't a bug present anymore.
5.can't transfer files, photos via bluetooth
Bump, iMessage, Photo stream. Most people don't need to do that. Most things are easily shared using online resources.
6.exorbitantly priced
Welcome to Apple. Accept it or don't, but with Apple's sales, people don't seem to complain about it.
7.sub-par camera (purple haze, lens flare complaints from users)
Never heard of this.
8. Maps software is way behind Google maps
Google Maps for iOS confirmed for December. Also, Scott Forstall was essentially fired for this, so think of it as Apple's way of saying "we know. Shut up."
9. No compliance with standards - Lightning cables are expensive and not freely available at a local shop in case one cable malfunctions or breaks.
Adapter.
10. Too little too late - there are more advanced features in Samsung Galaxy S3 which was released about 5 months earlier than iPhone5 and still the iPhone5 costs more and does not match up with the features offered by SGS3.
This just wraps up your arguments in proof you're just an Android fanboy.
I don't have biases towards any of the products, each has their own pros and cons, but the way you point out "the SIII is better." just shows you're trying to make up excuses that says "look what I had before you."
Quantity is never over Quality. People complain about something lacking a certain feature, only to hardly ever use it when it arrives. For example, people made hype about NFC being released on BBOS7. Then when the OS came out, people stopped caring in literally 40 hours.
The conclusion to your arguments? Falsified. The SIII is a great phone, but it should never be comparable to iPhones, with the reason being that they're not. The same. Phone.
I agree with your points. And this is what the exact reason for people who buy iphone. There are pros and cons available in both iphone and android phone as well. But still when comparing both, iphone beats Android because of their industrial design, excellent apps, features and functionality and many more. Iphone strikes a better balance of size and endurance.
- Why people like iPhones? I can't never get people who like iphones to give a good reason, why? Some say it easy, but a lot have no clue on how to use their own phones. Can someone explain something useful that great about iphone? Everything they think is special other phones have been doing for years.
- Why don't people just listen to music on their iphone why buy a ipod? I know some mobile devices aren't good with organizing music but the iphone is good with that so why?
- Why do people think that childfree people are immature and selfish? Marriage isn't living outside of yourself for another person? What about taking care of extended family?
- Why do people still buy the iphone? Why do people still buy the iphone when other phones have better specs? It doesent really make much sense to me that somone would for example buy the iphone 4s when there's for example the samsung galaxy s3.Is it because they would prefer to stay on the same platform or somthing else i'm missing?
