Why do pictures taken of tv screens look so bad?
Every once in a while I'll be playing a game on Xbox and it bugs out leaving a hilarious image on my screen, but every time I try to take a picture of my tv screen the quality is terrible. My friends can do the same thing with the same phone (iPhone) and I have a normal flat screen HDTV, but they're pictures look great, sometimes even amazing with a little patience of eliminating any jiggle when taking the picture. Why is this? Maybe my tv (LCD) needs to be updated to an led?
Digital cameras work in a similar way to a tv set. If you are taking pictures with a digital camera or phone then you are getting poor images because the refresh rate of the tv set is "beating" with the refresh rate of your camera.
Your friend's cameras are not beating with their tv sets. This is a matter of the relative refresh rates of the images. It does not mean that your tv is bad, it's just an incompatibility of your equipment.
Changing from LCD to LED or Plasma won't make any difference because the problem is caused by the refresh rate not by the picture generating technology. If you buy a new telly then make sure it has a different refresh rate to your current one. It would be cheaper to buy a new camera.
- Why does the video quality look bad when uploaded to the computer? [iPhone 4]? When I upload my video to youtube in HD directly from the iphone, I go on the computer to watch it on youtube and the quality is perfectly normal. But when I copy the file from my iphone and onto my computer the video looks grainy? I wan't to put it into after effects and do some editing but how can I go about KEEPING the quality of the video? I don't get why it gets all grainy when I put it onto my computer vs. It being perfect when I upload it directly from my ipod to youtube?
- Why does my skin look so bad under certain light. Any products to My skin will look fine when I look in my bedroom mirror, but when I look in my bathroom mirror or iphone front camera it looks absolutely horrific. Any reason why, and any product I can use for nicer skin?
- Why does my skin look bad on my iphone camera? I don't have acne but I have a few blemishes (not many at all) yet my skin looks dull and blotchy on my camera! Even my friends say my skin doesn't look like that in real life.
- Why do I look so bad in some photos? Some photos I look really good in. My hair, skin, facial features and everything looks natural, but others look like a completely weird version of me, especially photos taken with the iphone 4 camera or flash photography.
