Why does Apple release a new iPad and iPhone every year?

I've been a fan of apple for years now but they are starting to upset me, it seems that every year they release a new iPad or iPhone and it is really starting to piss me off. I feel so embarrassed walking around with what seems like an antique first generation iPad when everyone else has the iPad 4. I'm starting to think about getting the newest iPad but I'm afraid that as soon as I get they will release a new one and I'll just end up wasting my money.

Why can't they wait at least 2 years before releasing an updated iPad or iPhone, I understand the business aspect of this but what about customer satisfaction. I don't want to invest $500 in a device only to be left embarrassed a year later when my device is replaced by the newest sleekest model.

Why does apple do this and what are your thoughts about this?

There are many reasons for why they release new editions, but my reason is that you can get really bored with the old versions.

They are trying to get you to buy the latest stuff that is Really expensive. Its a certain propaganda tecnique. DON't FALL FOR IT! Its not worth your time and money!

It's all about the money. Most of society wants the new stuff. Apple could come out with something every month, and people would buy the new thing every time. It's just how humans work. Each time the product gets more and more expensive, and their profit margin gets bigger and bigger. Quite sad actually. They all honestly do about the same thing, except for a few new nick nacks that clearly doesn't do anything of use. Keep what you have, maybe upgrade every two or three new products, because nothing really changes.

Because of competition, the technology changes fast, one company should follow the step. As we knows, every year, every iPhone comes out with the newest technique. If not so, people will not to buy any i-products as drop out the technology life.

Apple release a new device every year to stay up to date which that every year there's a new smartphone with a better resolution and a better camera and so on so if they will wait two years as you say then no one will buy the iphone and apple gives you the opportunity to update your software whenever it is available if you have an iphone 5, 4 or 4s so you can have an old iphone but with the latest ios.
