Why does my 100 photos take up 6gb on my iphone

I have only 100 pictures on my iphone and it takes up 6 gb in memory. Meanwhile I have 800 songs and that only takes up 2gb?

Maybe its the size of each photo. Edit them and resize them.

If iTunes is set to sync your photos, iTunes will reserve that space even if the iPod doesn't have those pictures.

The photos you take may be more high quality so they tend to take up more space on your memory

1- are you sure you don't have any videos
2- maybe you have some hd stuff taken from a good camera with maybe edits and stuff downloaded onto you phone, which means it would take up more space
3- maybe a photo is bigger in size then a song
but anyways thats weird it shouldnt take up that much space

1.photos take up more space than songs, in general, due to the nature of their formats.
2. SOME photo formats use a lot of memory, and can't be compressed; which is why they have good quality.

Ditto on the photo storage issue. Both my spouse and I have same iphone5s and virtually the same amount of photos and video. Yet, mine take up 7.2 GB while his only uses 1.8 GB. What could be causing the difference in storage usage?
