Why does my apple cable keeps breaking and how to prevent it from breaking?

I had this broken cable for my iPhone I had it for 9 months and it's broken so I bought another one last Saturday and I saw this message again and I only had it for 2 days why does it keep breaking and how do I prevent it from breaking? I want my cable to last for long

the best way is probably to buy a trusted off brand that is more stable

It depends on where you bought it from. Some of the non-apple made chargers don't always work. I hate how short the chargers are so I bought a 3ft, a 6ft, and a 10ft charger off of amazon for my iPhone 4S. I had maybe 1 problem with them over the course of 6 months or so. Then I got my iPhone 6 and I immediately bought the same set of chargers: a 3ft, a 6ft, and a 10ft. The 10ft lasted about 3-6 weeks before I would get this pop up thing that would say that the cable is not compatible with Apple devices because it is not apple-made. I used the 6ft charger for about 4 months before I had an issue like that and I managed to deal with it for 2 or 3 more months before I was getting the notification every time I tried plugging in the charger. I'm now about 3 weeks into using the 3ft cable that came with the set (I use the apple-made cable for my car) and I haven't had any problems yet.

So its literally about where you got it from. Both of the sets of chargers I got off Amazon were only like $10-$15 so its a bargain considering a legit brand new apple-made charger will cost about $20. Plus if you charge true phone in your room, you can pretty much plug it into a central outlet and you can charge your phone anywhere in your room which is awesome for me because I go between my bed, desk, couch, and sometimes my floor and I can literally bring to any spot in my room without it unplugging.
