Why does my iPhone 5s say I'm almost out of storage?

I've only bad my phone for about five months and it already says I'm almost out of storage. I have the 16gb iPhone 5s.
I only have 700 photos, 13 videos, 301 photos, and not even two full pages of apps. I don't plug my phone into a computer very often, so could that be the problem?

It depends on the file size of the app/video/photo

13 videos is a lot, if you recorded them they get heavy, 4-5min is like 1gig. 700photos from the camera are like 1.4gb-3.5gb depending on their size and what appears on them. And your apps can be not a lot but be heavy. Also you might have a lot of stuff in cache, tun it off and on again to try to clean the cache and erase data saved from safari in settings/safari. To check what's taking up so much, go to settings/general/usuage and there you can decide to erase. Pass your videos or photos to the pc if you want.

Unload your photos and videos to your computer, just cut/paste them over with windows explorer is easiest way
