Why does my iphone auto delete everything I typed after I stop hitting delete?
I can't find any mention of this in my searches, so thought I'd ask what the deal is. It happens sometimes in apps like Instagram and FB when I'm typing a comment and go back to correct a mistake (yes, I actually take the time to do so on social media). I just want to go back a few spaces and when I get there and stop hitting delete, it just keeps erasing until the entire comment is gone. Not every time, and not in all apps. It's never happened in Twitter, text or email that I can remember. I haven't updated in awhile and can't until I take care of a few other issues, so I hope that's not it! So frustrating!

I have never heard of that before. It sounds like you are only having it in third party apps (ones that you installed from the store, not that came with the phone), so my suggestion would be to delete and reinstall the apps that are giving you the trouble. It is a good idea to update eventually, but if you do decide to update, do not go all the way to iOS6 yet as there are a lot of battery life issues with it that are yet to be worked out. Sometimes things do get a little messed up in the software for whatever reason, and usually a restore or an update can solve the problem.
Try to restore your iphone, it should fix the problem
