Added (1). I hear that "interference" noise in my earphones if my iphone is nearby
Added (2). It sometimes happens when no call/message is coming in as well.
Interfere? In what way does it "interfere"?
An iPhone is a very low powered radio transmitter, and like all transmitters they generate radio signals in all directions when in "transmit' mode.
Most of that transmitting only occurs when making calls, but due to automatic 'snooping' by phone companies an iPhone (like any other similar phone) will continually transmit the phone number in all directions and it is picked up by the nearest cell-phone repeater tower and the iPhone is sent back a signal strength message which is converted into a display on the screen.
If you want to see some of that activity - stick an electrician's multi-meter (volt meter etc) near an iPhone.
The low power of cell phones can interfere slightly with loudspeakers (or headphones) but hand held UHF radios, like UHF CB or police radios, can make big loudspeakers CRACK loudly from across a big room just by pressing the "send" button.

I have an iphone 4s which is fully up to date, all of my sound is fine when my earphones are plugged in however when i have no earphones in i can't play music or hear any sound when on apps and games etc, but my sound works for facetime and when i'm on the phone to someone even on loudspeaker, it sometimes goes quiet though, i have tried everything i can think of to fix it and nothing will work, please help
- Why won't my music play in my earphones on the iphone 6s plus? Really really really irritated. The music just plays through the speakers and not the ear phones. Someone told me before what to do to correct it and it worked, so i know it's not an actual jack issue. Ps worst iphone ever made. - Skullcandy earphones aren't working on iPhone? I just bought a new pair of Skullcandy and I plugged them into my iPhone 4 and they don't work. I tried my apple earphones and they work perfectly.
