Why does my iPhone lag so bad?
Ok, so I have an iPhone 4S and lags really bad. I haven't jailbroken it or anything, and don't keep a bunch of apps running. I force close most of them after I get done using them. The most lag is with my texting. Sometimes I'll launch the app, and it will take like 5 seconds for it to respond to my taps. Sometimes it doesn't even show the notification. It's a 16GB iPhone. I have been texting a lot lately, but not as much as some people. It's really obnoxious and annoying. Also, what happens when you reset your statistics? It says I've sent 1.2GB and received 27.1GB, should I reset it? Is there anything in the settings to help stop unnecessary usage? I barely get enough battery as is and it keeps lagging to.
Added (1). I don't have many apps on it either.
Because it is ***.
Background apps still open

I'm using iMessage. It is updated to the 6.0.1. I don't know how to fix this problem because it stops me from communicating with people.
- Why are modern digital cameras still stuck with the problem of shutter lag? The iPhone has overcome this problem; incidentally, the iPhone's camera is terrible due to the amount of bright eye from the flash aside from the disgusting colour clarity.

- What causes the iPhone app switcher to lag? I just bought an iPhone 5 and compared to my 2.5 year old 4 it's crazy fast. One thing I noticed was that double clicking the home and bring up the app switcher was instantaneous, and on the 4 it took 2-3 seconds. Although now my 5 is starting to do it. What causes it and is it fixable?
