Why does my old iPhone 4's screen look like this?

The iphone 4/4s glass back was way shinier and glossy and looked way better than the iphone 5/5s ugly matte finish dull boring metal back. like why can't they make one with shiny glass for the cool people. and one with the dull metal back for the boring people.

With hackers being able to hack into other people's iPhones and all that it seems like they don't even get people to test anything out!
- When you send an iMessage from an iPod to an iPhone, what does it look like? I recently just bought the new iPod touch, 5th generation. I set up iMessage. If I send a message to one of my friends using iMessage to their iPhone, how does it appear on their screen? Like does it say it's from my email address? Or is it already under my contact #? (I don't have an iPhone) haha thanks for helping out!
