Why has my iPhone been using more data than usual?
I have a 2GB data plan that i have never overaged on. I moved to a different state for college, and after using my phone for a couple weeks here, i'm already nearing 4GB of data. I'm not using it any differently, just how i did at home.
I used 1 GB of data in a period of 7 hours. Could someone please explain how this is possible?
I have spoken to Verizon and Apple, who both were of no assistance.
Added (1). I have fetch completely off, and location services off as well.
It could be a setting in your email, Fetch. It is what is constantly looking for new emails. If you set it to manual you will save alot.
You can't get anywhere near that just by browsing news apps, sports, etc., you would have to be watching streaming video or audio… Which I assume thats what you did but even thats alot. Are you letting it run in the background? I normally don't even hit 200 MB but I never watch video on it…

- Whatsapp doesn't allow more than 16 mb file transfer.but i'm able to transfer files much larger than that through my iphone 6 plus Whatsapp doesn't allow more than 16 mb file transfer. But i'm able to transfer files much larger than that through my iphone 6 plus. How is that possible?
- My iPhone says I'm using more space than I actually am? I have a 16GB iPhone 4S and according to iTunes, it says that I only have 1GB left. I added up the memory usage from all of my apps and I'm only using about 6GB. Most of my usage is coming from 'other' as i have very little music and photos. Is there a way I can fix this or see what 'other' is so i can delete what isn't needed?
