Why is American youth so paranoid about people different from them?

Take the word "creepy" for reference. According to American youth, everything is creepy. If you don't talk constantly about nothing, you're creepy. If you're sitting by yourself, you're creepy. Waiting for the bus by yourself, you're creepy. If you don't have an iPhone, you're creepy. Don't have a facebook? VERY creepy. Why is everything creepy to these kids? Do they genuinely find these insignificant things creepy or are they just trying to make themselves seem important?

Added (1). One gender does this disproportionately more than the other, but I don't want to enrage anyone.

Lack of intelligence and real life experiences.

I thought I was the only one who noticed that, I think Americans are generally more uptight about how you should act.

I'm creepy because I don't have my iPhone hooked up with service because I got sick of answering the phone and didn't want to be at everyone else's call. I use it as an iPod now. I like being creepy. I find teens rather annoying. Just think only half of them will actually grow out of it. Adults suck too. I didn't really answer your question unfortunately because I don't know why they are the way they are. I do see what your saying though.

I'm a youth, I don't do that, I guess it depends on tbe state, we're all very different, Seattle and Dallas don't judge.

The older generations were fed by family values. Today's generation is fed by the media. The media IS creepy.

I didn't realize that I was creepy until I read the details included below your question. Wow… I'm "really" creepy! I guess my only salvation here is that I do poop on the highway during rush hour. Now that I think about it, maybe I "am" one of the cool kids!

Creepy? I don't get it. I don't think its creepy at all. Its kind of creepy that you think that.
