Why is Apple so keen to push USB-C with their Macbooks but they don't include USB-C on the iPhone?

It seems like the Macbook department at Apple thinks USB Type C is the best thing since sliced bread but the iPhone department thinks USB Type C is work of the devil.

Right now its probably for the better in terms of the iPhone. Lightning accessories is more mature than USB-C though it looks like it would be an eventuality.

Some companies jump the gun on switching peripheral attachment ports, Apple included.

My guess is after considering how much better a USB-C cord is that it would just lose too much money not selling a new lighting cord every six month to anyone attaching their iPhone to their car's USB port. Apple is not good at cords and if they go USB-c people would just buy from one of those companies as good at cords as Apple is a hardware.

There may be some advantage to people upgrading form other iPhones to use the same charger as their old iPhone/new iPod Touch.

They had no yet designed a cord that was new, strange, and totally nothing like any industry standard

Apple is stupid
