Why is mobile sending number different to my number?
I recently bought an Iphone and did a sim swap so I could keep my phone number. Everything has been ok. However, when I send an imessage it shows the recipient a different number to mine. I don't think this happens when I send a SMS. Presumably it's the original number for the new sim? Why is this?
Imessage has nothing to do with your sim number it uses a code (a number) to identify your phone. It is not your number, it is the phone's.
It's nothing to so with the phone. You'll have to contact your network operator and explain the problem as they may not have switched the number correctly.
- Why is my new iPhone sending iMessages from my e-mail instead of my number? I got a new iPhone for Christmas and when I tried sending a message to my friend, she said it came up as my e-mail. My number is selected but when I unselect the e-mail, I can't send messages.
- Why is my iPhone number being displayed wrongly on my number? My number is X, but on "my number" settings, it's being displayed number Y. Why is that? Also, some people told me that when I call or text them, the number Y is appearing to them, not the number X as it should. On the other hand, if I call the number X, my iPhone rings normally, but the same thing doesn't happen when I call number Y.
- Why can i Imessage from the same number, two different iphones? I just recently got a new iphone because the other is messed up. But for some reason as i switched over to the new phone, i could still text people who had imessage on the old phone. But people who didn't, i couldnt text on my old phone. Why does this happen? Is it because its not really a "text" message?
- Two different computers, two different iTunes.can I use the same Apple ID? I have iTunes on my computer that I use for my iPhone, and my mon just got an iPod Touch and wants me to fill it for her. I'm going to use her computer to do this, which currently does not have iTunes. Once I download iTunes, can I use my own Apple ID to download songs and apps onto her iPod? Is it possible to do that without disturbing what's on my phone, or do I have to make a whole new iTunes account for her?
