WHY is my cat incessantly LICKING our iPhone cords?

For the past 5 or 6 days, WHENEVER my 5 year old cat is anywhere near our iPhone / IPAD / iPod Touch cords, she can't seem to stop LICKING THEM! Any ideas why? Aside from the occasional Frito, Wheat Thin, or pastry cream from a snack cake, she doesn't / won't eat ANY "people food," nor will she drink milk or eat wet cat food, fish. The previously mentioned 'no-nos' of hers are the same since we rescued her a year & a half ago but this "I-cord" thing is totally new! She's spayed, front declawed & a big-bobed, healthy girl, a wee bit on the chunky side. Any educated guesses as to WHY on earth she's adopted this bizarre habit?

Sometimes there's a sticky sort of substance (like what's on pictures) that cat are attracted too. I've been in your situation. Carefully take a damp rag and wipe down the cord.

Don't let here do it

  • Why don't I get sound on aux cords? I have an iPhone 5s, and I can't get it to work with the aux cord in the car but my sister couldn't with her 5, then her 5s, then her SE. It doesn't work with aux cord speakers either. My phone works perfectly fine with headphones and my family uses amazon music.
  • Why does my cat keep eating cable wires? I've had her for like 4 years and all the sudden this past week she has chewed up 4 of my iPhone chargers and my macbook charger. I'm so confused cuz she's never done this until now. Is there something i can spray on the wires? Why is she doing this all the sudden
  • Why does my cat bite me when I play the cat piano app? I like to play the Cat Piano app on my iPhone to mess with my cats. When they find the source of the noise, they bite me. I'm just curious, why do they bite me?
  • Where can I find these cords on Amazon? Both these cords direct audio and recordings to an iPhone or Android device (from a 3.5mm jack), but I can't find them on Amazon because I do not know their names. If anybody knows the specific names of these cords, you will be of great help.
