Why is my iphone 5 on sprint so slow?

So I just bought a new iphone 5 from sprint almost 3 weeks ago and I'm already having problems with it. It is so slow. And it's not like I live in the middle of nowhere, I live somewhat next to a sprint store so I should have a good connection right. But I don't! I usually have 4 bars but my Internet is so slow. Especially when I'm at school. Instead of saying sprint 3G it says " Extended ". Like wtf. And then sometimes it says sprint and instead of having the 3G it shows the little circle. It's so frustrating. I can't watch a video without letting it load for at least 4 minutes. And what makes it even more frustrating is that my brother has the 4s and his speeds are way faster. He actually gets 3G Internet. And we both have sprint together. What's the point of having a new iphone 5 if I can't even enjoy it. Please help. What's wrong with it. I've tried going to the sprint store but they just tell me they don't know what's wrong with it therefore do nothing about it. I did a speed test on it this morning and it said, ping: 119 ms, download: 1.41 Mbps, upload: 0.35 Mbps. Is that slow, normal? I don't know how all this speed test crap works

Those are some pretty slow speeds. But don't blame your iPhone; blame Sprint. Their 3G network is certainly subpar. However, they have been attempting to boost it and they are deploying LTE, so there might be faster data speeds for you in the future.
