Why is my iPhone 5 overheating?

It's also killing my battery. I've barely used my phone today. I charged it overnight and started using it at 7 and its now 12:20 and I only have 14% plush phone is super hot.

Why is it doing this?

You probably over charged it and knackered the battery because it is a technical issue take to apple and they will give you new one because it wasn't you fault. Just say it doesn't last long don't talk about possible reasons why just say it just started happening

Why not? But actually I would recommend putting an icepack in your case, that should help

Click the home button twice and then you will see apps that you been using and hold on it and you see
a red take away symbol and press it and then hopefully your iPhone be fine!

I had an iPad with exactly this problem; take it to the place of purchase and ask them to exchange it for a working one. They should oblige and problem sorted. Don't forget to back up all your information on the phone before you give it to the shop though!

  • Why is my iPhone 4 overheating? It always says iPhone to hot get out of sun and shuts down, where I live it's 45F and cloudy, WTF!
  • Why does my iPhone keep overheating? My iphone 4 keeps saying that it needs to cool down yet its not even hot. It'll work for about 5 minutes then go back to the temparure screen. Turning it off and on helps but only for about 5 minutes.
  • Why does my apple iPhone charger keep overheating? Whenever I plug my phone in, I worry about whether it's going to die because I plug it in around 5% and a lot of the time my charger will overheat and stop charging even though its plugged in. So I'd have to unplug it for a bit and wait for it to cool down while my phone is dying. When I touch the charger it's always super warm. How do I fix this? Or is it just broken?
  • Overheating iPhone 5 after throwing it? I was very stressed out this morning (my roommate was defacing my property as a "joke") and in a moment of anger, I tried to throw my iPhone against my pillow, but I missed and hit the wall. Now it is overheating, losing battery life, and it is continually searching for a cellular signal. Any ideas how to fix it, or do I need to buy a new phone? *By the way, I know throwing the phone was stupid and wrong. I just need to find a solution to the problem at hand.
