Why is my iPhone battery running out so quickly? O?

So I got my iPhone 3GS in April 2011 on a 2 year contract. It's now September 2012 and I have 7 months left. Since the summer the battery has been going really fast, like 1% every minute. It's completely ruined my phone and I keep it turned off all the time now and can rarely use it anymore which Is such a waste of money (my contract is £33 a month or around $60) I'm paying all this money for something I barley use (I check it like a few times a week). I really don't know what's caused this and I used to love my phone and text a lot. Has anyone else experienced this? Can I get a replacement? What's causing it?

Are your apps closed? Make sure they are. I had the same problem! If it's not from the apps, I would take it down to the store and tell them so they can replace it since it IS on a contract.

You probably have a lot of apps running on your phone. Check your apps to see if any of them are runnign like the person above said. If not, check to see if there are background apps that keep updating, connected to the internet.

If above passes, and if you're still under the contract, contact your service and get a replacement phone.

On mine the only things I have set to poll all the time are location services and clock… If you are constantly texting back and forth then that will slowly drain it of course, but I don't ever turn mine off and the battery is great. Lower the brightness of the screen, it shouldn't be maxed out and you don't need it maxed out.
