Why is my music not showing up in the artist section of my iPhone?

I just started adding music to my Iphone 5 and quite a bit of the music will not show up in the Artist section. After searching for it I can usually find what I was looking for in either the Album or Song section, but I find it kind of annoying to have to search so hard just for music. Any idea what's causing this?

You might not have the artist 'ticked' when you synced it. When you sync it, go to the Music section and then make sure that you have that specific artist ticked.

What do you see in the Artists tab then? Is it blank?
Solutions: 1. Reset iPhone: Hold Down power button for 3s after which press on the home button simultaneously, until the Apple logo appears. This little reset solves simple problems.

2. Resync: Sync all your music again, meaning first delete the songs on iPhone and then sync them again. (Do you see Unknown Artist in the Artists tab? This means that the songs don't have Artist labels attached). At this point you should be able to see your artists or unknown artist in that tab, depending on your music.

3. Reset Phone Settings: Go To Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. This also can solve the problem.

4. Restore iPhone: Perhaps the software may have been corrupted or has a problem reading the Music in memory. Restore iPhone using your computer. Back up your data before doing so.

Experience: I once encountered the problem while using Home Sharing (Streaming songs on my mac to my iPhone). I restarted the system (reconnecting both devices) and the problem was solved.
