Why is other taking up 6.8 of my memory space on my iphone 5?
On my iphone 5 "other" is taking up 6.8 of my data… What is this other and how do i reclaim my space? I've tried like resetting my phone and rebacking it up and stuff but nothing happened…
No phone has all the memory stated on the box, you need to realize the OS, and other pre installed apps from the carrier also takes space
As others have said, the space advertised on the device always includes space that is used by the iOS (operating system) and any other data needed to run the iPhone. That takes up the 6.8GB that you are missing.
Why is my 4s showing 2.5 Gs of space when I've deleted all my message?
- Why is other taking up so much space on my iPhone? - 1 And more importantly, what can I get rid of to get more space? I've deleted texts, calls, voicemails, emails, photos, songs, safari cookies & data, AND notes. What is going on? It's taking up around 3 GBs (or whatever) and it's killing me.
- Why is 'other' on my iphone and why is it taking up so much? When I sync my iphone on my mac it shows me what's being used at the bottom in a bar (music, apps, photos, other). My 'other' is taking up 2/3 of the bar and I don't know what that data is from? What do I do to make that 'other' bar go down so that I can free up some room on my phone
- Why is my music taking up so much memory? I have a 32GB iPhone 4S and I have about 550 songs. Those songs amount to 10GB. My dad has the same phone with te same amount of songs but only takes up 5GB. The lengths of the songs are roughly the same. Why is it that my music takes up more memory?
- Why is my iPhone taking up so much memory? I have an iPhone 16 gb with no music, and almost no apps (instagram and twitter, and I doubt that those are taking up all my memory). I don't have much photos and videos and I'm down to 1.1 gb.
