Why is there so much extra space on my iPhone after restore + recovery?
Last night, I tried to update my iPhone 4 through iTunes because I didn't have enough free space on my phone to do it any other way. The update failed, though, and I had to restore my phone to factory settings. Since everything is backed up on iCloud, I was able to get my phone back to normal after that and all my apps, settings, etc. Are as they were before I attempted the update.
I did notice a major difference when I plugged my phone back into iTunes, though. Before the restore and recovery, the "Documents & Data" bar was really large and taking up a few GB - leaving me with very little space left on the phone. I now have about half of the storage on my phone free and the D & D bar is down to about 150 MB.
So, what was taking up so much space in terms of "Documents & Data", and why is it all gone now? I haven't noticed anything missing in my phone at all.
No one knows what was on your phone, but if it freed up more space then thats great.
- Why isn't there more space on iPhone after purchasing the extra GB? Last month I purchased an extra 50 GB for my storage. The money is being taken out but there's still no space. The settings shows that I have 48 GB available but I still can't take pics or download apps. Any suggestions?
- Why doesn't any space clear up after I delete an app from my iphone? It doesn't matter what software version or app I have because it just makes sense that if an app takes up 4.3 MB, when you delete it and restart your phone 4.3 MB should be available.
- Why did my iPhone 5 go on recovery mode after upgrade? So I clicked the upgrade button and then it went on recovery mode and it said "To Plug Into iTunes" okay so I did that. Then when it told to restore it and upgrade it and I did but after the upgrade was done it said "ERROR" and made me do it again. Been doing for several times now and my iPhone is still in recovery mode. I REAL NEED Help.
- Why can't I gain space after deleting photos off my iPhone? Having over 1, 000 pics on my iphone I had very little space left so after backing up all pics I went through and deleted over 500 pics but kept the videos. But when I checked to see how much storage I now had the amount didn't change, as if I didn't delete anything! Anyone know what to do?!
