Why isn't my apple remote connecting to my pc?

I've downloaded the apple remote to my iphone and it was working fine.yet, one day the application froze or crashed and i removed it from my phone. I want to connect it again but when i bring up the code and type it into itunes, it just verifies forever unless i turn it off on my phone.answers?

Follow these step for Connecting your remote with your PC:

1:Log in on your PC as an Admin user.
2:Get very close to your PC.
3:Point the remote at the infrared sensor on the front of your Pc.
4:Press and hold the Menu and Next/Fast-forward buttons simultaneously on the remote for 5 seconds.
5:Your Apple Remote is now paired with your computer. You should see a chain-link style lock appear in the center of your screen for a moment.
