Why isn't my iPhone 5c working with a Verizon Sim Card?

My friend recently traded his xbox 360 for an iPhone 5c. He and I figured out that the imei code isn't blocked, but the phone can't make calls on a verizon sim card- he only knew because someone wanted to test out his sim card on the phone before buying it, but they could not make a call. Before my friend traded off his phone, the original owner had an ATnT sim card inside the phone. The phone worked just fine. Is there a way to possibly use verizon with the iPhone? What could be the problem? My friend was told it works with countless of carriers. (ATnT, Verizon, Etc)

My friend only wanted to trade his xbox 360 for the iPhone 5c is so he can profit off of the phone and buy a new graphics card. He had a harder time finding someone who wanted to buy the xbox 360.

The phone is probably locked to AT&T and that's why it's not working on Verizon. Also, the Verizon SIM that you're using is for 4G LTE data, it doesn't make calls or texts. If that phone is AT&T, it will not work on Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, C-Spire, PagePlus, Boost, Virgin, etc. But if you unlock the phone, it will work with AT&T, T-Mobile, StraightTalk, metroPCS, Cricket, SimpleMobile, Family Mobile, Net10, TracFone, etc. If you need help with getting the phone factory unlocked, mail me for more info.

  • Will any Verizon SIM card work in an Verizon iPhone 4S? I had recently acquired an iPhone 4S from an old friend. I was wondering if I could buy a cheap Verizon phone with a pay as you go plan, and remove the SIM from the cheap phone, cut it down to a Micro-SIM, and place it in my new iPhone.

I recently got a SIM card from virgin media for my iPhone 4, they said they would cancel my old contract and activate my new SIM card, 48 hours later my new SIM says it is activated but says no service at the top of the screen. And my old SIM card that should be deactivated is still working!
