Why isn't the music on my iPhone working?

I just updated my iPhone 4S to the iOS 6. When I go into my music and try to play it no sound comes out. It looks like its playing music but no sound comes out and it doesn't show anywhere to control the volume.

IOS 6 is flawed… You should perform a downgrade until most issues are fixed… Say in a month. It only went through 4 beta's and one goldmaster preview to developers… You can download an ispw from osxdaily here

select the ios 5.1.1 file you need, either gsm or cdma, and downgrade to iOS 5 by holding the shift button on your keyboard and clicking the check for update button. Once you shiftclick the button select the newly downloaded iOS 5.1.1.ispw you downloaded from the provided website.

Let the process go on, and restore from icloud or an old backup you should have done before updating to iOS 6. Your music will have to be manually put back as well as your videos.

Is there a little switch thing on the left side of your phone? If the orange side is showing that means its muted

The same thing has happened to my phone, but the sound for my headphones and Siri are working

Mine is an iOS 8.4
And when I press music it pops up like if it was opening but nothing happens

This is super frustrating mine is doing the same thing, appears like music is playing but no sound. I just bought a song and I can't even hear it, waste of money

When I press musically it just waits there for a second then it brings me back to home screen

That's exactly what mine does. I press on the app and it takes me back to my home screen. Very frustrating

I rebooted my device through the just boot process on redsn0w but its not working. I've tried it five times tonight not working.
