Why isn't my Iphone 5 giving any sound?

I have a white 32 gb iphone 5. I have it for about 7 months atleast, yesterday i noticed that i wasn't getting any sound from my iphone as in its playing music and videos without the earpiece but when it comes to games there's no sound, only with the earpiece. Another thing is when you press the power button to sleep mode it usually gives a locking or clicking sound now there's no sound at all. Why is this and can someone please tell me how to resolve it? Thank you your answers are greatly appreciated. Oh and it vibrates when i put it to charge which isn't normal for me because it gives off another sound when you put it to charge.

Is your mute switch on? That can cause that. Or do you have your volume limit all the way down to Zero? Go in settings all the down to music. Click on it and look for volume limit. If it says it's off then that's not it If it says it on then click on it and pull the circle thing to the right. If none of these work then go to apple and request a new one
