Why won't my iPhone 4S stay connected to Wi-Fi?

Every time I'm connected to Wi-Fi and then lock my screen the Wi-Fi isn't connected anymore. So then I have to go to setting and reconnect every time. How can I stay connected to Wi-Fi even when I lock my screen.

It's Apple screwing with you because they want you to buy the iPhone 5 from them

It's a problem with iOS devices on 6.0+ it will be fixed in the next update

It would depend on what type of connection. If it is a home connection, it might be several problems
- A device such as a microwave is interfering with you connection
- Low or thick cloud cover can also cause you to lose connection
- you might be too far out of range

If it is a public connection or hotspot, it might just be that there's too many people online and when you aren't using your phone, it automatically disconnects so other people can get on.

  • Why won't my Wi-Fi stay connected on my iPhone? Everyone in my house has an iPhone. My phone is the only phone that constantly disconnects from the Wi-Fi every 10-15 minutes. I tried resetting the network and everything.
  • Why won't my iPhone 6 stay connected to the wi-fi? When it says its connected it works fine. But it connects then disconnects then connects then disconnects. Auto connect is on. It doesn't do this all the time. Doesn't do it with any other devices I have. Just the iPhone.
  • Why won't my iPhone 5s connect/stay connected to my Wi-Fi? I have reset phone back to factory settings. I have reset network settings. It connects briefly then disconnects and says it can't join network. It's recently started telling me I have an incorrect password (I'm typing it correctly) Both my laptop and tv are having no problems connecting. Hopefully someone can help me out. I won't be able to go into Verizon until the weekend. And if it's something I can fix on my own, I would rather do so.
  • My Wi-Fi on my iPhone won't stay connected for more then 2 minutes? I own an iPhone4s, The bill hasn't been paid in two months. I can't keep a page open for any longer then 2 minutes, it will then stop loading and refuses to load anything else. I try refreshing the page, the only way the page will load again is if I disconnect and reconnect my Wi-Fi. This becomes a nuisance when you have to do this at least once every minute. Anywhere else where I'm connected to Wi-Fi it is fine, it's just at home. What's wrong with it? How do I fix it?
