Why won't my iPhone play songs not purchased from iTunes?

I was having problems getting new music onto my phone from my new laptop, so I did "Autofill from music," which I'm assuming means everything in my iTunes Library. (which is only the things I purchased from iTunes) After that, I tried listening to music on my phone and everything downloaded from other places or ripped from CD's won't play, it just skips to the next song. I've tried backing up my phone and re-downloading everything without any luck. I don't have any of the music anywhere else. Any suggestions?

  • Why won't songs play good on my iPhone 5 but play normal on iTunes? When I download music and import it to iTunes, They play fine and normal but as soon as i put them on my iPhone they sound scratchy or like if they were getting fast forwarded. I don't think it's my iPhone because I've put songs in it before but this just started happening today. What's the problem, How do i fix this?
  • Why won't iTunes let me play songs before I purchase them? I jus started noticing this problem last night. I have an iPhone 5c. When I go into the iTunes Store and click on charts if I want to hear a song before I purchase it I click on it but it doesn't play, this does it to every song. Someone please help.
  • Purchased songs on iPhone not playing correctly? I have 20 some odd songs purchased from my iPhone (through iTunes), and when I try to play them on my iPhone, they switch around? Like I try to play song 1, but it plays song 2 instead (while still showing the information and artwork from song 1) I've synced through iTunes and everything.don't understand why it isn't working!
  • Purchased songs lost after reinstalling iTunes? I had to delete iTunes today then reinstall it because my iPhone wasn't being detected under Devices. I easily transferred my purchased songs from my phone's iTunes but the purchased ringtones I had aren't there anymore. They don't show up in the Tones section of anything. I checked my iTunes purchase history and they're clearly there. So how do I get them back or find them?
