Why won't my Moto x charge in my car radio's usb port?

I bought a new radio about a year ago and it has a USB port. Since then I've had the iphone 4, iphone 5, and now the moto x. The two iphones would charge up as soon as I connected them to my radio via USB and even play Pandora through my car speakers.

But the radio will not read my Moto x at all nor will it even charge it.

Any ideas?

Added (1). Well the usb cable is good and compatible with my phone because it came with my phone and I use it to charge with my computer and wall all the time.
How do you know if a usb port on a radio is compatible with a certain phone?
I can't imagine the moto x would need more power to charge than an iphone 5 but I guess it's possible.

The usb port may not be high enough power, or it is not compatible with your phone.

You might have a bad usb cable or the usb cable itself might not support charging.

  • What should I buy? IPhone 5c(8 GB), Moto X 2nd gen or Moto X Play? IPhone has low disk space, smaller screen, but its an iPhone, while i don't know the difference b/w motox and motox play, play has bigger screen and better camera. Rest I don't know, I'm going to buy one of these, or others can be considered in the range.
  • Kenwood car radio- USB N/A device? I bought a kenwood radio for my car that says it supports USB through iPod and iPhone, but when I plug anything in it says 'n/a device'. Some of my friends ones work but mine doesn't -.- very annoying please help me on this on how to fix it
  • Iphone 5c won't charge on wall charger but will on usb computer port? My iphone5c gets a message when plugged in to wall charger saying "this device may not be supported" and it won't charge yet if I use my pc usb port it says nothing and charges right up every time and I can't understand why my wall charger makes it say that and won't charge it?
  • Iphone 5c(8GB) Moto X 2nd gen or Moto XPlay? They are around the same price, i don't like iphone 5c for the less storage options and I want a comparison between Moto X 2nd gen and Moto XPlay iPhone 5c also has a small screen.
