Why won't my pc connect to the network through Ethernet?

I built this computer and I have all the drivers and everything installed, but when I plug the Ethernet cable into the router and the port on my computer, it says it can't find a network. The Ethernet cable lights up in my computer showing it senses it and the router shows that it has a wired connection (I'm the only one connecting this way). I have connected to the internet before through the iPhone's tethering ability, however not through Ethernet. I read on other websites stuff about making sure DHCP is enabled and of course mine isn't. However, here comes another problem. The way most websites show you is through going to home networks local area connection properties, but since my computer has never connected to a "true" network, I have no networks in my Network and Sharing Center. Thus rendering that way impossible. So when I found a way through CMD. Exe, I tried it (obviously), and it resulted in it saying the action has already been enabled. Yet when I type "ipconfig /all" it still says "DHCP Enabled…: No". Even still I'm not even sure if thats the problem. Any help with this problem is very much appreciated, thank you.

Note:
- I have tried resetting both the router and the modem and neither has done the job.
- I didn't not instal or buy a network card as to save money, thinking I could just connect through my motherboard, which I should be able to.
- My motherboard is ASRock H77M Micro ATX LGA1155 if that helps at all.

Added (1). I can't change adapter settings since there's no network (even though there's one).

Config->network and internet-> networkcenter -> adaptersettings -> turn on LAN
Reboot PC
