Wi-fi issues with my iPhone?

I'm having problems with my wi-fi going grey or being grayed out. I have an iPhone 4S with Verizon. Should I contact Verizon or Apple? What can I do to fix this?

I'd go to an Apple Store.

This happened to me - more than once - and I can fix it in minutes. As you add apps that run *hot* - use lots of resources, because they are optimized for 5 - or even 6 - then cause an antennas overload problem. Remove any apps that use online resources constantly, or intensely (gaming?) - and then BACK UP YOUR PHONE on your computer, or the Net. Only after backing up - remove any case on the phone, and while it is still turned on (swipe out anything running) get a hairdryer, and moving it back and forth over the phone, get the WARNING screen - black, with a red thermometer to come up. Take five minutes or so. "Too hot to continue!" Then, shut off the hair dryer, shut off the phone (you can wait until you can safely pick it up!) and then stick it into a plastic baggie, and put it in the freezer for about ten minutes. Then remove it, take it out of the bag, and wait until it gets to be almost room temperature. THEN turn it on - and you Wi-Fi should be back! I have done this at least 6 times - because I then got arrogant and said wonder if is can MAKE it fail, and then get it back!" So - I loaded up all kinds up games, ran two GPS/maps apps and a Knicks video at the same time - and YES - I got it to fail. Shut them, off removed the games - did the dryer/freezer thing - YES - got it back!

If you do not believe me, the look on YouTube - there are several demonstrations. This will work - do not worry. Just BACK UP FIRST!

  • IPhone 4s connection issues? Update issues? I updated my iPhone 4s and as it turned on it will not let me go past the set up as it says I don't have a developer account? I'm not a developer and I do not have a developer account I can't restore the device as since I did the update the phone won't connect! WHAT SHOULD I DO?   • IPhone 4 issues, sound, camera, mute button Are these common issues: 3 months ago I had no sound coming from the speakers which fixed its self. Occasionally my camera screen goes black and only works if I leave it for 30 mins. Now when I tap the side the mute switches on and off and goes crazy. Are these common faults or should I seek manufactures warranty as only had the phone for 5 months.
  • IPhone 4 FaceTime connections issues after iOS 6? Why? Any It is pretty upsetting that I've had so many issues with it in the last couple of days considering some of my friends can't talk on the telephone so our main means of communication is through FaceTime and it is constantly reconnecting… What can I do? I had NO issues WHATSOEVER until iOS 6. I'm thoroughly disappointed with this.ugh. I did find something on apple's website of others having the same issue.
