Will a 16GB iPhone 5 have 16GB of space?

I want to get an iPhone 5 and the 16GB will suffice, however I'm concerned about the actual space. I have a 32GB iPod Touch but according to iTunes the maximum space available is 28.5GB. Could I expect this sort of thing to happen on the iPhone?

I just now had a look at my iPhone 5 n it had 13 GB coz 3 GB is utilized for the apps already installed

EVERYTHING IS THE SAME STORAGE=SPACE

So think of a room 10M x 10Mx 10M you could NOT store 1000M^3 of say a audio / visual equipment and still get into the room

Even if you did not you would have to know what is in the room EG Prometheus film, as 100% FULL, no way to access.

So like a room space is NEEDED for non storage ie to move, or to change the order, and importantly to keep a log of where things are

Yes. It is normal for that to happen by the way because some of that storage is used to store iOS & other important files. Oh & not just iPhones. Computers & other smartphones as well.

I could sell my ipod, but I want to spend as little as possible. WIll 16gigs be enough for me?
