Will a iPhone/iPod touch in a otterbox get destroyed if dropped in water?

I'm going to buy a otterbox for my iPod will it get destroyed if iPod were to to get dropped in water in the otterbox I'm new to otter boxes or is there a Breyer case on Amazon or something?

Oterrbox cases aren't usually waterproof, so if you drop your device on water with an Otterbox case, it'll more than likely get damaged, since water can creep in from the charging port and audio port.

If dropped and instantly picked up? No. Dropped and left for a while? Yes. The otterbox adds resistance to water. Paired that with the design of the iPhone/iPod touch whereby it's non removeable and sealed unless unscrewed and you've got pseudo water resistance. Just don't plug a charger in and put it in rice for a day before using again

  • Will Crapple warranty cover an iPhone destroyed in microwave oven? I put my iPhone in the microwave oven last night, and it totally blacked out after 4 seconds. I opened the door, took the iPhone out, and could not get it to turn back on. This morning, same thing. It won't turn on, it won't charge, and the computer won't recognize it. Will Crapple warranty cover this? Will they know it was damaged by the microwave oven?
