Will an iphone 3gs transfer spotlight history to new iphone4?

I recently broke my iphone 3gs and i had deleted.texts on my spotlight history i'm now changing to an iphone4 will that info be on ny iphone4 when my sim goes in or will it stay on the iphone 3gs device?

Text messages are not saved on SIM cards. All Spotlight does is search, deleting the message is done on the phone by the system, and usually deletions of text messages are permanent.

SMS and MMS messages are, by default on nearly all devices, saved in a small database within the phone's operating system, on the phone's ROM memory. This is why, when you change phones, the messages don't come with you automatically; thay have to be backed up in some way and transferred over. On Android phones, for example, there are apps that will back up the message database to a file on the memory card (or to some external location), where they can be restored on the new device.

Since most iPhones don't have removeable storage, you would probably have to save the messages to the internal storage, then save them off line with iTunes or some other app.
