Will any handsfree headphones work on my iPhone 4?

Okay so I got an iPhone 4 last Friday (two days ago) and I found the handsfree headphones really useful, however I've managed to break them already… So I'm wondering if I buy say Samsung or Nokia handsfree headphones, will they work in my iPhone? I don't think the official ones are worth the price they cost.

Hi

If you are the kind of person that is looking to get the best quality things without having to pay too much, I would suggest that yo simply buy a handsfree, even for a £1 on Ebay.
As long as they are 3.5mm, any will work, so they do not need to be branded.

  • Why don't my iPhone headphones with mic work with my Mac? When I plug my headphones in, they work fine. The remote works too. I just can't get the mic to work. System Preferences doesn't detect them, and I can't set them up with Audio MIDI Setup. They work perfectly on my iPhone, but not my Mac. I know they work with Mac's, because I have seen people state on the Apple website that they do. I need help! MacBook Pro 13 inch (Early 2011) Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4
  • Why doesn't my iPhone 4 have any sound unless headphones are in? I accidentally dropped my iPhone in the tub while I was texting (stupid me!) but fortunately it still works! But when I try to turn the volume up or down, it displays itself as "headphones" even though headphones aren't plugged in! And the sound only works when they are!
  • Using Iphone Handsfree for on laptop? IU have one female connection on my laptp which is multipurpose for both speaker and micrphone, I believe! But anyway there's only one socket! When I enter my iphone handsfree, I can only hear but not not speak via my handsfree microphone and I have to use the internal microphone of my laptop. Is that possible to use my handsfree microphone or no?
  • My normal headphones won't work after using Bluetooth headphones? (iPhone 7)? I've been using AirPods for a couple months now and the battery is getting pretty bad so I decided to get some plug-in Apple headphones but those don't work. When I plug them in I get a "not supported" notification. I've also tried friends headphones that worked fine on there phone, so I know it's not just faulty wires.
