Will apple give me a refurbished iphone?
Last night, it had a small black spot and overnight it grew and now it's a big black spot that's the size of an American quarter with purple, yellow, blue, and orange around it. I know it's a dead pixel but will Apple replace it for a refurbished one? I talked to an apple person on chat and they said this is very unusual. And will I have to pay a lot of money? I don't have apple care and the warranty expired but I heard they could still replace it for a refurbished one.
It matter how long you had the iPhone and you need to have the recite you have to go to the apple shop where ever you got it show them the recite and warranty paper if you have one and tell the what happened
As you said you don't have apple care and the warranty expired, So you will not get replacement for damaged screen. You have to pay extra $$$ for that. I'm pretty sure for that.
At a non-Apple repair store its about ~$75. You get to keep your phone, only takes an hour
If you don't have Apple care and you're out of warranty, I'm sorry to say that you've to pay for the repair. They'll replace the touchscreen and you've pay for that. I would rather suggest you to get it repair from local cellphone store who can do it for $80-90 if not less.

- When you give APPLE a defective IPHON do they give you a reconditioned one back? My IPHONE had a defect, still under warranty, so I took it to an Apple MAC store and after a few days they gave it back, supposedly repaired. Now the replaced IPHONE has a problem, different than the previous problem I'm now having a problem with the taking a photo. Do they just replace your phone with a reconditioned one they say no but?
- When will the iPhone 7/7 Plus come out as refurbished on apple.com? Apple has a whole section devoted to refurbished phones, the newest model being the 6s Plus (which I bought from them refurbished). I know that Apple is now taking the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus for trade in, so does anyone know when they will add the 7 to their refurbished line?
