Will HBO Now be the same as Netflix?

So, I'm thinking about getting HBO Now, but I have this concern about it. As we all know, for the first 90 days HBO Now is only exclusive to Apple devices (I have an iPhone) but I was wondering when they start introducing support to other devices (in my case a Samsung tablet & PS3) will the account I signed up with with Apple be able to be accessed with other devices & will the price of $14.99 be the same? If I'm not mistaken I read that HBO Now will vary prices depending on the device or something along those lines. Ultimately, what I'm asking is will HBO Now be like Netflix where you sign up & you can use it on various devices (once they include more), under one account & with a set monthly charge?

I'll get my magic crystal ball and let you know what it says.

Not sure where talks currently are to provide HBO Now on other than iDevices, but assuming it follows the model set by HBO Go, it should be the same price ($14.99/mo) and be available through one account on multiple devices for no extra charge. If there's more definitive info I was not able to find it yet, but HBO would be wise to not favor one device over another with price or availability after this initial period of iDevice exclusivity.

In the meantime, you can watch HBO Now on Android and Roku devices involving the PlayOn service (after setting up the account with an iPhone, which you don't even need to borrow since you have one of those, too) - see here for details:

The C|net article provides a link to a lists of other devices that will work as well - Hope this helps - good luck!

(PS: You can use that iPhone too with a TV if you have Apple TV, and there are other alternatives here as well)

EDIT: You can also use HBO Now on a PC (Windows and Mac) which can be connected to a TV as well - see here for FAQs on what info is available from HBO (just in case you didn't see this already):

  • Is Now TV separate from Sky, does it work like Netflix? I want to try out an alternate to Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant. I found NowTV, looks pretty good if rather expensive, but does the subscription operate just like Netflix, where I can pay for a month and cancel at any time, I don't want to get involved with Sky because I only want to stream via my Laptop and iPhone.
  • My mom and i got the same phone and same plan yet her internet loads all the time and mine never does? Two iPhone 7+. Same unlimited data plan. Yet literally no matter where I'm, nothing that uses data loads unless I'm connected to Wi-Fi. Yet my mom's internet loads no matter where she is. It's even happened that we're in the same place trying to load the same thing and hers loads while mine doesn't. Yes, I have my data turned on. I've made sure all my data settings are identical to my mom's. So i really don't know what could be causing this.
  • Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
  • Is jailbreaking an iPhone 4s the same as unlocking (supposedly illegal now)? I'm an Android user so if I'm not using the correct terms then I apologize. I've read that jailbreaking an iPhone 4s has it's advantages. So is jailbreaking similar to unlocking or to rooting (Android)? Also, if an iPhone is "jailbroken" can it be updated to iOS 7 or does it have to be returned to its original state?
